SOME IMPORTANT SCHOOL REGULATION:
1. Enrollment in St. Joseph's Convent school implies, on the part of the pupils and parents willingness to comply with the rules and regulations of the school.
2. English will be spoken by all staff and students at all times in the school premises.
3. Students should be in school at 8.20 am punctually. Absentees and late arrivals enter their classes only after the Principal has signed their diaries. Space for the leave/late note is provided in the school diary.
4. Pupils are to come to school dressed in clean, well ironed uniforms. A written permission from the Headmistress is required to wear slippers due to injuries.
5. Day scholars may not leave the school premises. Lunch to be brought to the school. Permission to be obtained from the Principal/In-charge to leave the premises at all time.
6. Boarders should get explicit permission from the Hostel superintendent/Principal to leave the Hostel/School premises all the times.
7. Pupils who want to go out of the class room for any reason should obtain permission from the incoming /outgoing subject teacher.
8. The school is not responsible for any pupils before and after school hours. Pupils who are absent from examinations for any reason what-so-ever will not be re-examined. Marks obtained in the weekly, terminal and final examinations will determine promotion. The weekly test marks sent to the parent/Guardians must be signed by their parents. Parents are requested to examine the terminal reports carefully and see that their children make a special effort to study those subjects in which they are weak.
9. The decision of the school authority with regard to students who fail for two consecutive years can not remain in school.
10. Any damage done to school property must be made good by the pupil concerned.
11. Absentees on the opening and closing days of a term after special holidays like. Puja, Deepawali, Easter etc. are liable to lose their seats.
12. The school diary is a personal record of each student and should be taken to school dialy.
13. Parents should enquire regularly about their ward's progress. They should also check their ward's daily for absence from school, late arrival and weekly test result.
14. Absolute silence must be maintained in the school library at all times. Library books, newspapers and magazine should be handled with utmost care and returned within the stipulated time.
15. Parents and Guardians are urged to inculcate in their children a taste for prayer, a sense of the Divine, and the necessity of moral and spiritual values for all life.
16. The School is not responsible for goods lost. Students are advised not to bring valuable articles and money to school. All of our students are expected to be honest and truthful at all times, specially regarding the goods that belong to others. Things confiscated will not be returned. Mobile phones are not permitted in the school/hostel.
17. Use of tobacco products in any form, consumption of alcoholic drinks, use of ganja, drugs in any form, smoking, chewing betel nuts will result in dismissal without any consideration.
18. Private tuition for students are discouraged. Teachers will be most willing to help those who need extra help during their free time or after the classes. Explicit permission from the principal is to be obtained before making arrangements for private tuition.
19. Chewing the gum in the class is strictly forbidden. Violation of this rule may incur heavy fines.
20. Students should look upon their school mates as brothers/sisters and upon their teachers and superiors as fathers/mothers.
21. Respect every teacher whether of your own class or not. Be grateful towards those who taught you in the past. Show your teachers those exterior sign of reverence to which they are entitled, such as greeting them whenever you meet them.
22. Be convinced that your teachers deeply feel their serious obligation of promoting your welfare in the best way they possibly can and that in advising, commanding and correcting you, they have nothing else in view but your own good.
23. Always rise when your teachers enter the class and again when they leave. If they delay in coming, do not make any noise, but wait for them in your places in silence reviewing your lesson. During class avoid whispering or interrupting.
24. The students are to observe strict silence in the computer lab. Dust is the greatest enemy of the computer. Remove shoes before entering the room wear clean socks.
The computer is a very delicate and expensive machine. Damages must be paid for by the student. Report immediately if any kind of defect or damage is noticed, so that prompt action may be taken and the machine could be made available for the next user.
25. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, neglect of home work, disobedience and disrespect towards teachers and members of the staff or bad moral influence will justify dismissal. Pupils are responsible to the school authorities for their conduct and dress both in and outside school. Students who are careless about application, study, behavior etc. even after correction are given demerit slips. Three demerit slips result in suspension and five in dismissal.
26. Students are not allowed to go home after attending for periods/examinations. However, in case of an emergency, the child will be allowed to go home if her/his parents/guardians comes to pick up the child.
27. Results of weekly assessment will be recorded in the diary. Those must be signed by the parents.
28. The students will be fined of Rs.100/- if he/she is :- caught smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco in any form (for the irst time). If the students is caught smoking or chewing tobacco, the second time, will not be allowed to continue in the school.
